Dallas County Drone Innovation Day

In May, the North Texas Innovation Alliance (NTXIA) and Dallas County, TX, released a Call for Innovation as the County looks to incorporate UAS/Robotics technology into its day-to-day operations and services. Dallas County will be hosting a UAS/Robotics Innovation Demo Day in Dallas, TX on June 26th 2023 to introduce UAS/Robotics use cases to Dallas County departments and to assess their ROI potential and their scalability for wider County and Local Government implementation. This forward-thinking approach to experiencing, learning and evaluating new technologies is a credit to Dallas County’s approach to innovation, who developed its Smart County Blueprint framework in 2022 with support from NTXIA, and is working collaboratively across departments and agencies to implement integrated programs.

Dallas County is interested in a wide range of UAS/Robotics use cases, which include but are not limited to:

  • Parking lot surveillance

  • Illegal dumping monitoring/detection

  • Supply/warehouse delivery or inventory management

  • Inter-office/inter-building delivery

  • County fleet vehicle remote inspections

  • County building condition inspection and evaluation

  • Drones/Robotics for public safety

After an impressive group of applicants responded to NTXIA and Dallas County’s Call for Innovation, the following 10 solutions were selected to participate in a Demo Day hosted by Dallas County later in June.
