Exploring Innovation in Motion: NTXIA Q1 Immersive Innovation Series Recap

The North Texas Innovation Alliance (NTXIA) hosted its 2025 Q1 Immersive Innovation Series event, offering members an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at cutting-edge developments within the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone (MIZ) and AVX Aircraft. The day was packed with innovation, collaboration and inspiring visions for the future of mobility and aerospace.

AVX Aircraft: Advancing Vertical Lift Technology

The morning began with a visit to AVX Aircraft, an aerospace pioneer specializing in advanced vertical lift solutions and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology. Members also received an in-depth overview of AVX’s journey including their current projects and future aspirations.

A highlight of the visit was a tour of AVX’s newly expanded headquarters at Perot Field at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. The impressive facility includes 14,000 square feet of renovated office space, a state-of-the-art software development lab and a dedicated prototyping shop, where transformative UAV technologies are developed and tested.

AllianceTexas MIZ: A Hub of Economic Impact and Smart Innovation

Following the AVX tour, attendees gathered for lunch and an engaging presentation from the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone team. AllianceTexas, Hillwood’s 27,000-acre master-planned, mixed-use development just north of Fort Worth, continues to make headlines as an economic engine for the region.

In 2024 alone, the region generated more than $10.2 billion in economic impact. A major highlight of that milestone was the $80 million Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant, awarded in collaboration with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the City of Fort Worth and the City of Haslet. This grant is part of a larger $262 million public-private initiative designed to double activity at the AllianceTexas inland port and accelerate its industrial real estate growth. The AllianceTexas Smart Port was the only project selected from Texas and one of just 44 awarded nationwide.

Building Connections for Future Innovation

In true NTXIA fashion, the day was not just about learning — it was also about building meaningful connections. The event sparked multiple opportunities for collaboration between NTXIA members, AVX Aircraft, and AllianceTexas. The event laid the groundwork for future collaborations across freight, mobility, logistics, aviation education and autonomous transportation systems. Follow-up conversations are already underway, supporting upcoming initiatives like the Future Logistics Leadership Summit, the Aviation Education Academy and the Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program and a potential connection between an international startup and AVX.

Looking Ahead

The Immersive Innovation Series is all geared towards showcasing the power of bringing together industry leaders, community leaders, educators and innovators to explore and experience the technology and ideas that are shaping the region. The North Texas region continues to lead the way in fostering connections that drive economic growth and technological advancement.
