North Texas Tech Leaders Launch New Information Technology Sector Partnership to Strengthen Workforce, Innovation, and Regional Competitiveness

Dallas, TX – On Thursday, March 27, 2025, more than 50 regional technology leaders gathered at the Microsoft Corporation campus in Las Colinas for the official launch of the Dallas Region Next Gen Tech Sector Partnership. Co-convened by Dallas College, the North Texas Innovation Alliance (NTIA), and Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas (WFSDallas), the event marked the beginning of a new, employer-led collaboration designed to tackle shared industry challenges and drive long-term economic growth.

The event, “Dallas Tech Industry Sector Speaks,” was a professionally facilitated session   focused on empowering industry leaders to identify top priorities in workforce development, talent retention, innovation, and operational excellence. Using the Next Generation Sector Partnership model, already adopted in 18+ states, the partnership places employers in the driver’s seat, supported by education, workforce, and economic development partners.

Initial industry champions Michael Sherwood (Nvidia) and Chris Foster (Accenture) helped lead the session, which culminated in the establishment of shared goals and a commitment to quarterly meetings focused on actionable strategies.

“This partnership is about shaping the future of the Dallas-Fort Worth tech ecosystem together,” said Lynn Hoffman, Sr. Innovation Manager, WFSDallas. “By aligning our collective efforts, we’re setting a strong foundation for innovation, job growth, and economic resilience in our region.”

The partnership is open to all tech employers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who are eager to collaborate on workforce solutions, influence policy and education, and ensure the region remains a national leader in innovation. Companies that did not attend the launch are invited to join future strategy sessions and working groups.

Together, we are building a stronger, more connected tech future for North Texas.
