That’s a Wrap: Smart City Expo World Congress 2024

Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners, November 20, 2024

The 2024 Smart City Expo World Congress has come to a close! Thank you to SCEWC for inviting us to this year’s incredible event with over 25,000 attendees, over 1,150 exhibitors and 632 speakers. This year, the Curiosity Lab team was all over the conference with over 5 different speaking opportunities, a large booth presence in the USA Pavilion, announced a new ecosystem member, helped host the Smart Cities Global Startup Challenge and so much more.

The Curiosity Lab booth was filled with our international ecosystem members this year, with 7 different companies present. Thank you to Clevon, Opsys – our newest member with their solid-state LiDAR, Black Arcs, NxGo, Juganu, SOLID 3D and T-Mobile for joining us this year. Your presence in the booth not only provided physical representations of your technology and what you are deploying at Curiosity Lab, but also helped tell our story. The booth was filled with potential new partners and ecosystem members who were eager to speak with our companies and the Curiosity Lab team. We had incredible conversations with representatives from companies from across the globe and cannot wait to see how these new relationships continue to develop after the event.

In addition, Curiosity Lab Executive Director Brandon Branham and Managing Director Valerie Chang sat across multiple panels, sharing their smart city insights and more about our leading smart city environment here in Peachtree Corners. Altogether, the team spoke across more than 5 panels across multiple stages and international booths in the conference.

The second day of the conference, we held the Smart Cities Global Startup Challenge where the top four finals participated in a live pitching session to an esteemed panel of judges representing smart city ecosystems across Curiosity Lab, NTXIA, McKinney and Frisco. After a very detailed deliberation, the judges awarded startup VisionCraft as the winner! This Czech Republic based startup provides actionable, real-time information from AI-based computer vision and object detection algorithms and can be applied across ITS, manufacturing and logistics, healthcare, sporting events and more. We are thrilled to have them visit us at Curiosity Lab to deploy their technology in the upcoming months. Congratulations!

Throughout the week, Curiosity Lab team members and partners also spoke with a variety of media as well, sharing our story and highlighting the incredible companies who attended the conference with us.

Thank you again to our incredible team, ecosystem members, partners and more for your support!
